Teen shoots himself while drunkenly playing Russian Roulette in Highland Hills

A teenager is in critical condition after he shot himself while playing Russian Roulette in Highland Hills early Sunday morning.

According to Highland Hills police, three juveniles were drunkenly playing Russian Roulette in the hallway of the Chagrin Highlands Apartments around 1:30 a.m.

When one of the boys placed the .38-caliber gun under his chin and pulled the trigger, the gun went off. 

Police say the two other teens carried the injured teen to South Pointe Hospital. 

The victim was still conscious when he arrived at the hospital. He told employees he was jumped and shot by an unknown person.

Police said the juvenile owner of the gun went home and went to sleep. Officers later found the gun in his home.

That teenager was already out on probation. Police say he is expected to face a slew of charges. 

The victim was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center where he is in a medically-induced coma.
