Cleveland firefighters battled a 3-alarm fire inside a commercial building on Wentworth Avenue Cleveland early Tuesday.

The fire was first reported around 12:50 a.m.

Firefighters had to cut their way into the building through a large garage door before they were able to get water on to the fire.

The smell of smoke was reported as far away as Lakewood.

The section of the building that was on fire is a 2-story garage and loading dock type building that is attached to a large 5 story abandoned building.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire in the smaller section of the building.

The fire was mostly under control around 4 a.m. but crews will remain on scene throughout the morning.

No injuries were reported.
