WESTLAKE, Ohio — The Westlake Police Department has released dash camera footage showing one of its K-9 officers stop and lend a helping hand to a duck whose babies couldn't quite make it over the curb.

The rescue happened on Center Ridge Road, according to the department's Facebook post.

The duckling's parent can be seen walking back and forth on the sidewalk, waiting anxiously as its ducklings struggled to hop over the curb.

When the officer approached, the duck didn't shy away. It watched and waited as the officer picked up her offspring and gave them a much needed boost. Once reunited, the family continued on its way.
