The most recent instance of gun violence plaguing the city of Cleveland has left two men injured in a shooting by several suspects on Kenard Court.

Police responded to reports of a man shot around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday night and found a 39-year-old man with a gun shot wound to his left leg. Before being transported to Metro Health Medical Center, the victim told police that he was sitting in his backyard when he witnessed multiple people shooting at a silver vehicle. The suspect was shot as he was attempting to run into his home.

During a sweep of the neighborhood, police located the silver vehicle that was involved in the shooting. The driver, a 41-year-old man, told police that he was shot while dropping off a friend. He said there were several unknown black males who opened fire.

According to police reports, the Kenard Court home sustained damage, but the three people occupying the home were not injured. Detectives are continuing to investigate and police have not released a statement detailing the motive for the crime.
