A vehicle involved in a chase and crash on Monday was stolen from a gas station over the weekend with a child inside, police say.
On Oct. 20, a vehicle with a 2-year-old child inside was taken from a gas station on Neff Road in Cleveland when the owner stepped away from the car, police said. The child was later found at the corner of Neff and La Salle roads a short time later.
Later, a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle stolen from the gas station was spotted in the area of East 93rd Street and St. Clair Avenue.
Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop when the vehicle fled from police. The stolen vehicle crashed into another car driven by a 45-year-old man in the area of East 127th Street and Shaw Avenue.
The 45-year-old driver was taken to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center for a headache where he was later treated and released.
The two occupants inside the car took off on foot after the crash, police said.
Police have not said if any arrests have been made.
