A carjacking victim and another man chased after car thieves as they drove off with the victim's car in Parma.

Police say the victim was tackled to the ground and pistol-whipped on the back of the head on Sunday evening. The two men approached the victim in the Midtown Towers parking lot.

“It happened in building three, this is where I live and I knew nothing of it,” said Amber Pass, a resident of the complex. “I just think an increased police presence is something that makes me feel comfortable. Especially having children and being out with it being dark in the morning and in the afternoon."

Parma police have released surveillance camera images of the two men suspected of the attack. Police say the pair got into the victim’s car and drove off. When the victim yelled for help, another person helped the victim into his car and tried to follow behind the stolen vehicle. They eventually lost sight of it.

This is the second carjacking at the complex in less than three weeks. Police are not able to say if the two are connected.

Both suspects are said to be in their 20's and were wearing hoodies. The victim told police there may have been two other men involved.

Anyone with information about this incident and/or the identity of the suspects is asked to call the Parma Police Department Crime Tip Line at 440-887-7340.
