Warrensville Heights High School canceled classes after threat made on social media

Warrensville Heights High School canceled classes on Friday after a threat was made towards the school on social media.

Kayla Pallas, of the Warrensville Heights School District, released the following statement:

We immediately consulted with local law enforcement, and it was decided to close the building and cancel classes for the day.  The police searched the High School building, recreation center and athletic fields and nothing was found.  The police department is now investigating the source of the threat.

All threats to our school and scholars are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. If you discover anything that can assist in the investigation, please contact us immediately.

The final varsity football game against Bedford remains scheduled for Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Classes will resume Monday, Oct. 29. The school district said there will be an increased police presence in and around the school.
