Cuyahoga County made an appearance in The New York Times' Op-Docs collection in a short documentary about photocopiers.
It sounds mundane, but the actors in the short made it an extremely compelling six minutes and 59 seconds.
The short documentary focuses on a 2010 lawsuit in which the Cuyahoga County Recorder's Office was sued when it decided to charge $2 per page for photocopies of public documents, according to the film. The actors speak the transcript taken during a deposition of the court case word-for-word in "Verbatim: What Is a Photocopier?"
Dave, the man taking the deposition, gets comically and increasingly frustrated when a man from the Cuyahoga County Recorder's Office decides to be difficult, claiming he can't define what a photocopy machine is and cannot say for sure whether or not the office has a photocopy machine.
The film is part of a collection of The Times' editorial department's channel for short opinion documentaries produced by independent filmmakers.
