A woman was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting late Wednesday night in a parking lot on Euclid Avenue, police said.
Police arrived in the area of 18121 Euclid Ave. at around 10:40 p.m. for reports of a woman shot. At least 15 markers and casings were scattered from the parking lot of a business all the way across Euclid Avenue, according to News 5's overnight photographer.
On scene, police found a 23-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the elbow, according to the report. She was taken to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center by EMS for treatment. Her condition is unknown.
A second shooting victim, identified as Tierra East, 29, of Cleveland, according to the medical examiner's office, was taken by private vehicle to the hospital where she died from her injuries after receiving a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police said information on the scene indicated that the 23-year-old woman and East were standing with other family members in the parking lot of 18117 Euclid Ave. when a red Dodge Dart traveling eastbound on Euclid began firing shots.
The shooting is under investigation.
