If your kids play in a sports league, you may be taking a trip out to Erie County this Spring or Summer.
A more than $20 million sports complex owned by Cedar Point is welcoming its first tournament teams this weekend.
Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center sits in the spot once occupied by the Griffing Sandusky Airport. The land is now owned by Cedar Point. Georgia-based Sports Force Parks runs the complex.
The fields are college and pro-caliber but most of the athletes playing on the field will be 18 and under.
A soccer tournament this weekend is kicking off at least 40 sports tournaments through November, bringing in families from all over Ohio, surrounding states and Canada.
"We want them to come and we want them to stay longer," said general manager Scott Henrichsen.
Lake Erie Shores & Islands is banking on it.

"The participants are staying at the hotels, they're eating at local restaurants and shopping at local places," said Marketing and Communications Director Bryan Edwards.
The company that runs the complex estimates it will bring in nearly $60 million to the Sandusky area by 2020.
Erie County leaders think so too. The county footed most of the $23 million bill to build it.
