CLEVELAND — Two people were flown to Cleveland-area hospitals Sunday night after a crash involving a horse running down a road in Burton Township, according to troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to troopers on scene, a horse was running down State Route 168, just south of the intersection of Georgia Road, when it hit a car, causing it to travel left of center, hitting a minivan.
The two occupants inside the car that hit the horse, two Burton residents in their 80s, were life-flighted with serious injuries to local hospitals. The driver of the minivan was not injured, according to troopers.
The horse died as a result of the crash.
Troopers said all occupants involved were wearing seat belts.
