CHARDON, Ohio — A Strongsville priest accused of having child pornography was back in court on Wednesday for an arraignment a charge out of Chardon.
The priest, Robert McWilliams, was arraigned in Chardon Municipal Court on a charge of sexual performance of a minor, a second-degree felony, according to court records. He pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $150,000.
Court records state that on or around May 17, 2018, McWilliams posed as an underage girl to solicit nude photographs from a 16-year-old boy.

In December 2019, McWilliams was arrested following an investigation by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and a criminal complaint filed in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.
The complaint lists three counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, all second-degree felonies; pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor, a fourth-degree felony and possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.
A court date in Cuyahoga County has not been set.
He is due back in Chardon Municipal Court on Jan. 15 for a preliminary hearing.
