MILLERSBURG, Ohio — A Christian campground in Millersburg was destroyed in an early morning fire Sunday.
Around 5 a.m., executives of Skyview Ranch Christian Camp woke up to realize a fire had completely destroyed the offices, dining hall and kitchen of the campground.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire and extinguish the flames, but not before the total loss of those areas, according to Gary Adams, the camp’s executive director.
No one was inside at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, Adams said.
The campground had just celebrated 50 years as a ministry this summer, according to Adams.
Skyview Ranch Christian Camp serves around 9,000 guests each year. The campground will now focus on rebuilding.
“The loss of our dining hall, offices, and everything inside hits us hard, but we know that the Lord is still working and is in control,” Skyview Ranch Christian Camp wrote on its Facebook page Sunday afternoon.
While the ministry works to regroup and rebuild, donations are being collected to assist in the efforts.
