BERLIN, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of a hit-skip crash involving a buggy in Holmes County Saturday morning.

Around 8:34 a.m., a horse and buggy was traveling on Somerset Drive in Berlin when it was struck from behind by a newer gray Subaru Impreza, troopers said.

The Subaru continued on Somerset Drive onto US 62, according to troopers.

While the driver of the buggy was not injured, the horse had to be put down at the scene, troopers said.

Troopers said there is video of the vehicle leaving the scene and there was a silver sport utility vehicle behind the Subaru that continued to follow after the crash.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call 330-264-0575.
