HURON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 26-year-old woman was killed in a crash Tuesday morning in Huron Township when her car struck a commercial semi-truck.
The woman has been identified as Amber Schaffer, of Norwalk, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Schaffer was driving a 2010 Ford Focus on U.S. Route 250 when her vehicle went over the center line and hit a 2007 Mack truck traveling in the opposite direction, authorities said.
Schaffer was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. The truck's 41-year-old driver was not injured in the crash, authorities stated.
OSHP said alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
