74-year-old woman killed in 2-vehicle crash at intersection in Wakeman Township

HURON COUNTY, Ohio — A 74-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 303 in Huron County Sunday afternoon.

State troopers responded to the crash just before 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 303 and Butler Road in Wakeman Township, located in Huron County.

Donna J. Zedaker, 74, was driving southbound on Butler Road in a Ford Escape when she failed to stop at a stop sign, crashing into a Dodge Ram driven by a 17-year-old.

After the impact, both vehicles traveled off the southwest corner of the intersection. Troopers said both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed away from the scene.

Zedaker, who was wearing her seat belt, was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital where she died from her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol and/or drug usage is not suspected at this time.
