CLARKSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that happened Tuesday evening.

Around 4:54 p.m., a 2004 Buick LeSabre was driving south on State Route 60 north of Eaton Road in Clarksfield Township when it went left of center and struck a 2018 Ford Explorer head-on, troopers said.

The driver of the LeSabre, later identified as Liane Field, 53, of Greenwich, was not wearing a seat belt and died from the injuries sustained in the crash, according to troopers.

There were two passengers in the LeSabre. A 50-year-old man who was not wearing a seat belt was taken to a nearby hospital with incapacitating injuries, troopers said.

A two-year-old child was also transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The child was restrained in a child safety seat when the crash occurred, according to troopers.

The 74-year-old driver of the Ford and his 72-year-old passenger were both wearing their seat belts when the crash occurred and was transported to a nearby hospital with non-incapacitating injuries, troopers said.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the crash, according to troopers.

The crash is currently under investigation.
