A 17-year-old was hit and killed by a driver who went off the road Tuesday afternoon in Eastlake, according to police.
Police said they took a call for an accident involving a pedestrian on Vine Street near E. 337th Street around 1:45 p.m. When they arrived, officers found Maddisan Chase injured. She was taken to Lake Health West Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver in the incident allegedly drove off the right side of the road and hit Chase. The truck kept going and crashed into a pole. The driver did not need medical attention and was held for an investigation.
