COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has released the state's weekly list of the top 20 Ohio counties ranked by highest occurrence rate of COVID-19 cases, and three Northeast Ohio counties made the list, with one near the very top.
The top 20 counties are as follows:
- Mercer
- Putnam
- Lake
- Allen
- Van Wert
- Adams
- Auglaize
- Wyandot
- Miami
- Preble
- Tuscarawas
- Muskingum
- Noble
- Marion
- Clark
- Williams
- Union
- Seneca
- Defiance
- Ashtabula
Over the last two weeks, Lake County has seen 1,032 cases per 100,000, the third-highest occurrence in the state. The county was placed on the Public Health Advisory System’s purple Level 4 watch list on Thursday, along with Lorain County.
DeWine said that Lake, Putnam, Mercer, and Allen counties, which are all seeing 1,000 or more cases per 100,000, reflects that about one in every 100 people in the four counties has the virus and could be actively spreading it in their communities.
