MENTOR, Ohio — A new 56,000-square-foot Giant Eagle is opening up at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting in Mentor Thursday, and the first 200 customers will receive a mystery value gift card worth up to $100.
Located at 8383 Tyler Blvd, this location will have a sleek design equipped with modern shopping features such as curbside express and a feature for customers to scan, bag and pay for groceries as they shop.
Ranked as one of the top 40 largest private companies according to Forbes, the new store will employ 150 people.
“We’re looking forward to surprising and delighting our customers with our new Mentor Giant Eagle,” said Dan Donovan, Giant Eagle spokesperson. “A number of departments will operate almost like specialty shops within the supermarket, with a wide number of offerings and new services.”
The store will feature a wide selection of produce, a bakery, a large selection of local products, fresh meal kits and prepared foods.
In addition to the food features, there will be a full-service pharmacy with drive-thru access, a Huntington Bank ATM and a dry cleaning service.
On Friday, May 17 from 5-6 p.m., Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens will sign autographs for customers.
