The U.S. Coast Guard says it has ended its active search for an Ohio man missing since a boat capsized Sunday in Lake Erie.

The Coast Guard says rescuers responding to a report of two people in the water found one man on the boat's hull, about a mile off Fairport Harbor.

Officials say the rescued man lost sight of the second man, 55-year-old Roger Burton, of Alliance, after the boat capsized. Responders searched for Burton for 24 hours but called off the search Monday evening.

The Coast Guard initially reported that the rescued man was taken to a hospital but later said he was evaluated and released at the pier. The agency also clarified that the capsized boat was 18 feet long, not 22 feet as it originally reported.
