LAKE COUNTY, Ohio — After distributing more than 3,000 pounds of pet food to residents in need, the Willowick Pet Food Pantry has scheduled four additional distribution dates in May.
As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic hardships it has caused, the pet food pantry has increased its distributions and will hold no-contact, drive-thru pet food giveaways for those in need.
The distribution dates, times and locations are as follows:
Saturday, May 2
- Ashtabula—Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home at 500 Prospect Rd. from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Saturday, May 9
- Willowick—Willow Praise Church at 32901 Vine St. from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Saturday, May 16
- Painesville—Miracle Revival Ministry AG at 182 W. Jackson St. from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, May 23
- Willowick—Willow Praise Church at 32901 Vine St. from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
The distributions may end earlier than scheduled depending on when the pet food runs out, according to the pantry.
Those in need can drive to the location during the distribution times and tell a volunteer if they need dog or cat food and it will be loaded in the backseat or trunk of each vehicle.
During the first distribution in April, around 125 people were assisted and 2,850 pounds of food was distributed to those in need, the pantry said.
