WILLOWICK, Ohio — In an effort to help those in need take care of their pets during the COVID-19 a pet food pantry in Willowick gave away nearly 3,000 pounds of food Saturday.
The Willowick Pet Food Pantry held a giveaway at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and by 9 a.m. it was out of pet food.
Around 125 people were assisted and 2,850 pounds of food was distributed to those in need, the pantry said.
In addition to the pet food the pantry gave away, toilet paper, paper towels and toothpaste were also provided to those in need, according to the pantry.
The Willowick Pet Food Pantry event was run by a group of volunteers who helped support the people and pets in their community.
