ELYRIA, Ohio — A 16-year-old from Cleveland was taken to the hospital after he was shot in Elyria Tuesday evening.
Elyria police said the shooting happened just after 10 p.m. on Middle Avenue.
The teen told police at the hospital that he was with a friend when a dark-colored sedan and a blue pickup truck drove past them and people inside the vehicles started shooting, police said.
After the teen realized he was hit, his friend drove him to University Hospital's Elyria campus. He was later transported to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for treatment. The boy's condition is unknown, but authorities said the injury doesn't appear to be life-threatening.
