Police detectives have arrested two men in connection with the fatal shooting of 20-year-old man in Elyria on Monday.
At around 6 p.m., police were called to the 1400 block of West River Road for a shots-fired call. Officers said that when they arrived, they found 20-year-old Zachary Mason lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his torso. Mason was taken to a nearby hospital and died from his injuries shortly after arrival.
Keeon Green Jr., 18, and Lance Cheers, 28, were taken into custody on Tuesday. Both men have been charged with aggravated robbery and are currently being held in the Lorain County Jail without bond, according to authorities.
Police said additional charges may be forthcoming, and further arrests are expected.
