Four schools in Lorain were placed on a precautionary lockdown while police investigate a nearby shooting that occurred off of school property Wednesday afternoon.
Lorain High School, Frank Jacinto Elementary School, General Johnnie Wilson Middle School and Washington Elementary School were all placed on lockdown while police worked in the area.
Police said they believe the shooting didn't have anything to do with the schools. The shooting happened near the area of Wes 24th Street and Ashland Avenue.
According to authorities, one suspect has been arrested and a firearm was recovered.
Police didn't provide any additional details regarding the shooting.
