32-year-old Elyria man operating a motorcycle killed in crash

CARLISLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a 32-year-old man from Elyria Sunday.

A 30-year-old woman from Carlisle Township was driving a 2017 Dodge Caravan westbound on Butternut Ridge Road.

A 32-year-old man, identified as William Gunter, 32, of Elyria, was driving a 2017 Honda C300 motorcycle eastbound on Butternut Ridge Road.

The 30-year-old woman attempted to make a left turn into her driveway when she failed to yield the right-of-way to Gunter and was struck by Gunter, the news release stated.

Gunter who was wearing a full facial helmet was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 30-year-old woman and her four children ages 1,2,4 and 10, all restrained in car seats and seat belts, were not injured.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
