Authorities say an 81-year-old woman driving a 2019 Ford Escape failed to yield the right of way of oncoming traffic at the intersection. Evans, riding a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was heading east on West Erie Avenue and the SUV was heading west on the same street when the SUV’s driver turned left onto Oak Point Road and the two vehicles collided.

The impact caused Evans to be ejected from the motorcycle. Evans was not wearing a helmet, police said.

The SUV’s driver was transported to a nearby hospital, treated and released.

According to police, sun glare may have contributed to the crash.
