66-year-old Brunswick man killed in two-vehicle crash in Grafton Township

GRAFTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 66-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Grafton Township Saturday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Around 8:24 a.m., troopers were called to state Route 83 for a serious injury crash.

Troopers said a 2020 Jeep Cherokee was traveling west on state Route 303 when it failed to yield at the intersection of SR 83 and was struck on the left side by a 2020 Peterbilt tractor with tanker.

Both the Jeep and the truck went off the west side of the and struck a guardrail, according to troopers.

The 66-year-old driver of the Jeep, identified as Russell Gulliford, of Brunswick, and a juvenile passenger had to be removed from the vehicle by mechanical means, troopers said.

Gulliford was transported to University Hospitals St. John Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, according to troopers.

The juvenile passenger was transported to Cleveland Clinic with serious injuries, troopers said.

Troopers said the driver of the truck was treated on scene for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
