A North Ridgeville man was sentenced on Wednesday after he was found guilty of killing his wife.
On Nov. 6, 2015, North Ridgeville police received a call from Ronald Svec who said he had shot his wife in their home. When officers arrived at the home, they said they found 69-year-old Gloria Svec lying in the kitchen unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.
Gloria Svec was taken to St. John's Westshore Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later, authorities said.
Ronald Svec, who was 74 at the time of the shooting, was found guilty of two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault, each with a firearms specification. Ronald Svec received a sentence of 18 years to life in prison.
