The mother accused of killing the father of her children before taking them, which prompted a statewide AMBER Alert, has been taken into custody and her children have been found safe, according to police.
Arriel Rose Bryant, 28, was located by authorities at 14072 Lorain Avenue. Her children were taken into custody and appeared to be in good health, police said. They were both taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for a wellness evaluation.
Police responded to a home on Alahambra Avenue around 8:15 p.m. Monday. They found Richard Kelly, 30, of Cleveland, dead inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators say there was an argument between the Bryant and Kelley.
Both Kelley and Bryant lived in the home.
Police said Bryant then shot Kelly and left with their two kids in a vehicle. The vehicle was later found in the 14200 block of Lorain Avenue, but no one was inside it.
Authorities later learned that Bryant and her children were in an apartment building located at 14072 Lorain Avenue. Bryant had gone to her sister's apartment with the two children, according to police.
Bryant was arrested and charged with aggravated murder. No court date has been set.
