ELYRIA, Ohio — An arrest warrant has been issued for man wanted in connection to a homicide early Tuesday morning in Elyria.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Ivan L. Brooks, 34, who they believe is responsible for the death of 45-year-old Terrence L. Taylor, according to a news release from Elyria police.

Shortly before 3 a.m. police responded to the 840 block of West Broad Street in reference to a man who was shot.

When police arrived, they found Taylor on the ground behind the front door of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, the news release states. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Elyria detectives determined Brooks was connected to the deadly shooting.

Brooks is currently considered at large and his whereabouts are unknown at this time. Brooks' last known address was on Lexington Avenue in Lorain.

Authorities said Brooks is considered armed and dangerous at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the Elyria Police Department at 440-323-3302.
