AVON, Ohio — Play: CLE, the 25,000-square-foot indoor adventure park located in Avon, is set to reopen on Thursday after being closed for several months.

The business temporarily shut down in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But, the director for the company said ahead of reopening, several changes have been put into place.

"We want to make sure that everyone feels like they're fully safe in this facility," said Megan Ramey.

Ramey said the follow changes will be put into place for the indoor adventure park starting Thursday, June 18:

  • temperature checks for all employees, guests
  • encouragement of masks, facial coverings
  • reduced capacity
  • temporarily closing of some attractions
  • frequent cleaning, sanitizing

During its reopening phase, Play: CLE will only allow 100 customers inside at once , a big drop from their normal 680-person capacity.

"We'd rather be open and safe and ready to go and have those 100 guests come in, rather than be shut down for much longer. Just because we are a small business and this is a trying time," she said.

In addition, the company said they are investing in liquid chalk for customers.

"Basically it's alcohol and chalk mixed together," Ramey said. "It creates a coating on your hand to not only disinfect the holds but to keep you safe too.... That's something we are investing in as a company. It's a little pricey but it's worth it to keep our employees and guests safe."

The company is implementing the following hours for this summer:

  • Monday: Closed⁣⁣
