LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio — A Lorain County group that provides food to those in need is fighting to keep its operations running and the community is helping them do so.

Neighborhood Alliance provides meals to home bound seniors in Lorain County and in February went from serving around 350 people to now more than 650 people.

With each meal delivered, however, the group’s trucks are beginning to show their age.

“They're starting to get worn out and it's getting to the point where the trucks are breaking down on a regular basis,” said Alicia Foss, CEO and President of Neighborhood Alliance.

After turning to the community, four different groups each offered to donate a new truck, replacing not only the two that keep breaking down, but adding two more to the fleet, allowing Neighborhood Alliance to expand its routes and serve more people.

"It's going to be a huge help to us to have the trucks because the more that the trucks break down, and the more that they're off the road, the harder it is for us to meet the demand that we see in the community,” Foss said.

The group is always accepting donations. To learn more click here.
