A crash between a semi and SUV along the Ohio Turnpike closed all lanes early Friday morning for about 90 minutes.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes between Gulf and Abbe roads in a construction zone.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are handling the crash investigation and have not released any information about what led up to the crash.

A witness told newsnet5.com that two people in the crushed SUV were trapped inside for over 30 minutes while Elyria firefighters worked to free them from the wreckage. One person was flown from scene in a medical helicopter and another was taken by an ambulance.

The driver, passenger and a dog that were inside the semi appeared to be uninjured.

The Turnpike reopened just after 6:30 a.m.
