An Elyria man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly held a knife to a 3-year-old boy's throat and threatened to kill the child and everyone else inside a home during an argument that broke out on Thursday.

Daniel Scott Jr., has been charged with two counts of aggravated menacing.

The incident happened at a home on the 250 block of Harrison Street, Elyria, around 7:30 p.m.

According to a police report, Scott came to the house looking for money he claimed a resident owed him. When the resident told Scott he didn't owe him any money, the man pulled out a knife and threatened the resident. The report states that Scott appeared intoxicated during the altercation.

When Scott was told to leave, he put the knife to the throat of a 3-year-old child and then threatened to kill everyone inside, the report said.

Scott was taken into custody by police and transported to Lorain County Jail. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 9
