CLEVELAND — This weekend, Elyria residents can get free loads of laundry done as part of a national nonprofit providing complimentary laundry services to people across the country.
The nonprofit Current of Ohio, who is sponsoring the event along with Christian Unity Church, will wash and dry approximately 300 loads of laundry for 30 families, at no cost for Elyria residents.
Residents can get free laundry on a first-come, first-serve basis at Speedy Clean Laundromat, 1043 East Broad Street, in Elyria.
Organizers of the event are still looking for volunteers and additional financial sponsors for this event. Members of the community are asked to donate detergent, supplies, bleach, quarters, bags, coloring books, crayons, fabric softener and laundry baskets.
The event runs on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
