AVON, Ohio — On the heels of a viral photo showing nine Sacramento nurses who were pregnant at the same time, an Avon school is showing off a baby boom of its own.
Colleen Mudore, the principal at the Avon Early Learning Center, tweeted a photo last week showing six of her staff members pregnant with seven children – one teacher is expecting twins.
“We actually do baby showers for our staff, that’s where the photo was from,” Mudore said. “We’re a big family.”
The photo was taken about three weeks ago, and since then, two of the women have given birth; one on March 20 and the other on April 1. She said another teacher is either in labor now or due very soon. The latest due date is in August, for the teacher expecting twins.
Three of the pregnant staff members are Kindergarten teachers at her school, accounting for about 25 percent of her teaching staff, Mudore said.
“It’s been kind of a whirlwind,” she said.
She joked that she was considering cancelling staff meetings, as that was when the staff members announced their pregnancies.
Mudore said she is super excited to welcome the seven new little “Eagles” to the AELC family.
