LORAIN, Ohio — Beginning Monday May 18, the Lorain County Public Library will offer curbside pick-up at each of its six branch locations, allowing patrons to place materials on hold though the library’s catalog.

The system will notify the patron that their hold is available, at which time the patron can grab their library card and head to their local branch between 1 and 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

There will be specific parking spaces with numbers dedicated for the pickup service. Once patrons arrive to the designated parking spots, they’re asked to call the library where a staff member will bring the material out to their vehicle.

When it comes time to return the books, the library encourages patrons to use the exterior book drops.

The six branches of the Lorain Public Library System are:

  • Main Library, 351 West Sixth Street in Lorain—440-244-1192
  • Avon Branch, 37485 Harvest Drive in Avon—440-934-4743
  • Columbia Branch, 13824 W. River Road in Columbia Station—440-236-8751
  • Domonkas Branch, 4125 E. Lake Road in Sheffield Lake—440-949-7410
  • North Ridgeville Branch at 35700 Bainbridge Road in North Ridgeville_440-327-8326
  • South Lorain Branch at 2121 Homewood Drive in South Lorain— 440-277-5672

Anyone who placed materials on hold prior to the branches closing in March can still pick them upside through the curbside pick-up service.
