SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office needs help identifying a man suspected of committing at least two armed robberies in Sheffield Township, in Lorain County, according to a news release.

On Sunday, deputies responded to Dollar General, 200 Sheffield Center, after receiving a 911 call of a robbery in progress at around 7:34 p.m.

Deputies were notified that an unidentified man entered the store brandishing a firearm at the cashier. The cashier turned over the money before the male fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

On the way out of the store, the male robber encountered a male bystander who attempted to intervene and stop the robber. The male robber was able to escape, fleeing in a silver vehicle of an unknown make or model.

Deputies said the male robber matches the description of another man who had previously robbed the same Dollar General store weeks earlier.

Anyone with information about the identity of the alleged robber is asked to contact the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 440-329-3880.
