LORAIN, Ohio — The Lorain Fire Department helped welcome home a small but mighty warrior as he returned home from a 10-month hospital stay.
On Friday, firefighters participated in welcoming home 3-year-old Cameron Peete from the hospital.
Cameron had been in the hospital for the past 10 months battling cancer and was finally able to return home after beating the disease.
Not only was Cameron welcomed home with balloons, loved ones and a giant yard sign that read “Cameron kicked cancer’s butt"—he also was surprised with a Power Wheel fire truck donated by Assistant Chief Jeff Fenn and the Lorain Professional Firefighters Local 267 after learning Cameron loves fire trucks.
Cameron can now enjoy his childhood back at home, riding around in his awesome new fire truck and being showered with love from his family and friends after “kicking cancer’s butt.”
