LORAIN, Ohio — A 51-year-old Lorain man, who was wanted for a domestic violence shooting that happened on Sunday night, has been arrested by officers from the Lorain Police Department, according to a news release.
Curtis B. Haller was arrested during a traffic stop, just before midnight on Sunday. He was taken into custody without incident, police said.
Haller is being held in the Lorain County Jail on charges of felonious assault and aggravated burglary.
Police were searching for Haller since he was wanted for a shooting that happened on Sunday at around 5:30 p.m.
The 55-year-old shooting victim was found shot at a residence in the 200 block of West 39th Street. Officers originally believed that Haller was still in the garage where the shooting at occurred.
The SWAT team responded to the scene. After searching the garage and home, Haller was nowhere to found.
The 55-year-old female shooting victim had been in a 20-year relationship with Haller. The couple had recently split and there was a protection order in effect against Haller.
Police said additional charges may be forthcoming. No further information was released.
