NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — The North Ridgeville Police Department is launching a “Special Needs Wandering Alert Form” to help better meet the needs of residents with autism, dementia and other special needs who go missing.
The new form is part of a database that will alert emergency personnel when they respond to a call with an individual or address registered with special needs.
Knowing an individual’s special needs could be crucial for responders defusing crisis situations, or be helpful in searches of missing people with special needs.
The form provides emergency crews with the individual's personal information, along with their special needs information including known triggers and behaviors, communication abilities and calming methods.
To register, send the form with a current photo to soliva@nridgeville.org, or drop it off to The North Ridgeville Police Department.
