SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Authorities will hold two OVI checkpoints Friday night in Lorain County.
The first checkpoint will run from 7 to 11 p.m. on State Route 57 in Sheffield Township.
In addition to the checkpoint, there will be extra troopers on patrol throughout the area to “aggressively combat alcohol related injury and fatal crashes.”
A second checkpoint will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. on Detroit Road in Avon.
According to the Lorain County OVI Task Force, there have been six deaths in five OVI-related crashes this year.
