Avon police have identified the two people involved a shooting and related car crash Thursday morning.
Officers were initially called about 8:30 a.m. for a shooting at Technifab on Chester Industrial Parkway.
Police tell News 5 a Technifab employee was shot. Then, he got into his car and took off.
The employee has been identified as Kevin Fenderson, 36, of Elyria, according to a police news release.
Fenderson was shot in the upper back area by Joshua Avalos, 28, of Lorain.
After the shooting, Avalos got into another car and left.
A second call came in about a shooting and car crash in the area of Colorado and Carleen avenues.
Officers responded to the crash, where they found two crashed cars and two men.
One of the cars had multiple bullet holes.
At 8:55 a.m., the Fenderson was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he underwent surgery and was released.
Avalos was transported to University Hospitals St. John Medical Center for treatment of injuries from the crash. He has been arrested and charged with aggravated felonious assault and vehicular assault. Avalos was being held in the Lorain County Jail.
It's unclear at this time whether the Avalos worked at Technifab.
According to its website, Technifab is a product and system solutions provider for aircraft manufacturers.
