2 suspects connected to fatal shooting of 16-year-old in Lorain in custody

LORAIN, Ohio — Two men that were identified as suspects connected to the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Lorain last week are now in police custody.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Dale Maurice Johnson, 21, and Benjamin William Decost Jr., 20, according to Lorain police. Both men have been charged with complicity to felonious assault.

At about 7 p.m. Tueday, Lorain County detectives confirmed that Johnson and Decost were in custody. They thanked citizens for their numerous tips.

Just after midnight on June 25, police responded to the 500 block of Washington Avenue and found 16-year-old Eduardo “Aaron” Vasquez with a gunshot wound. The teen was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
