Authorities are looking for an armed suspect after a woman was found shot multiple times in her car near an industrial area in North Ridgeville.

The shooting happened around 12:18 p.m., near Bender Road and Taylor Parkway, around the corner from Rhenium Alloys, according to authorities.

Police said a resident of Avon and 54 years old, was found in the driver's seat of a Lexus at an intersection about a mile from where she worked at Invacare. The area where she was found is frequently used by local employees on their breaks, police said.

The woman was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center and then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Her condition is not known at this time.

Authorities said she was approached by a white male in his mid-20s and after a short conversation, the man shot her several times while she sat in her car.

According to police, the man fled the scene in a maroon color SUV and has not been found.
