ELYRIA, Ohio — A semi truck traveling on the Ohio Turnpike went off the road and crashed into a yard Wednesday in Elyria.
Firefighters from the Elyria Fire Department responded to a yard on Wesley Avenue.

According to the the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Authorities say the driver may have had some trouble with the truck, which caused him to lose control and go off the road and down into an embankment. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
Assistant Chief Jamie Norris of the Elyria Fire Department told TMC NEWS the load was a type of crude oil, and while there are no dangers to residents in the area, there are environmental dangers as crews work to clean it up.
Alcohol/drugs do not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
