AVON LAKE, Ohio — A pair of eagles are happy parents after two eaglets were born in a nest at Redwood Elementary School in Avon Lake, according to Avon Lake City Schools.
The first eaglet was born at 6:22 a.m. on Monday. Cindy Duffala, an administrator for the Facebook group "Avon Lake Bald Eagles Nest"said at around 7:30 a.m., a second egg just hatched.

Since late February, three eggs have been laid.
- The first egg was laid on Feb. 28 at 4:02 p.m with an estimated hatch date of April 4. (HATCHED on April 8)
- The second egg was laid on March 3 at 1:51 p.m. with an estimated hatch date of April 7. (HATCHED on April 9)
- The third egg was laid on March 6 at 5:25 p.m. with an estimate hatch date of April 10.
The nest is home to a pair of eagles affectionately named "Stars" and "Stripes" by a group of Avon Lake students. Every year, they have returned to the nest to raise a new brood, and this year is no different.
