LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio — An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper is in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night.
Officials said the trooper was directing traffic for a traffic light that is out of service on State Route 2 and Middle Ridge Road in Lorain County around 6:15 p.m., when they were struck by a 2020 Kia Sportage.
The officer was transported to Mercy Hospital in Lorain, then flown to Metro Health.
The driver of the vehicle did not suffer from any injuries.
